How I Work

In person-centred counselling, you are the expert on your own life. Rather than offering advice or solutions, my role is to create the conditions in which you feel safe enough to explore who you are and what feels important. I believe that people have an innate capacity to find their own way when given the space to do so, and that therapy works best when that space is built on trust, honesty and genuine human connection.

I use a variety of approaches in my work including creative methods, mindfulness practices, breath work, self-compassion practices, body awareness and yoga.

You can use your sessions to talk about issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship concerns, health conditions, loss, questions of identity and your relationship with yourself.  But ultimately, I will work with you as a whole person rather than focusing on individual problems.

Consultation & First Session

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation, giving us both the opportunity to see if we feel like the right fit to work together. If we decide to go ahead, our first session will involve looking at a contract and discussing the boundaries of our relationship, so that you feel clear and safe about the process from the outset.

Sessions & Frequency

Sessions are 50 minutes and are held online. We will agree together on a day, time and frequency that works for you - most people find weekly sessions useful to begin with, though fortnightly can also work well depending on your needs and preferences.

Length of Therapy

The therapeutic relationship lasts as long as you find it useful. You have full autonomy over when to end and we will discuss endings throughout our work together, so that the process feels considered and right for you.

Fees & Reduced Rates

Sessions are £50, and I offer reduced rates for those who need them - please don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss.
